​​I watched the Christmas tree turn brown
Just as I saw you die
I prayed for the leaves to always be green
And I saw the colour slip from you cheeks

You were always that few steps in front
You would stride I would run

But it came so out of the blue
You had us and we had you
That Christmas tree although evergreen
Someone cruelly snatched it’s life 

And left us gasping
Crying WHY
